Those who are looking to bet on some hockey action this Monday, may be sorely disappointed to find just two games available on the NHL schedule, and to make matters worse, both games involve massive favourites laying heavy juice. Such an occasion though does put many bettors in an interesting dilemma; whether to take the path of the chicken, and steer clear of any potentially dangerous propositions until the road seems clearer, or to take the path of the fish, and bite on anything that seems remotely shiny in the hopes that a big juicy worm is somewhere in the mix.
In the long-run, it is obviously preferable to find a perfect balance between these two extremes, and to be both cautious and opportunistic all at once, but such a long-term endeavour can only be reached through personal improvement on a day-to-day basis. As far as the short-run goes then, this Monday, I will opt to take the path of the chicken, as the games on the board don’t really give me much reason at all to want to cross the road.
_ _ _
Dallas Stars vs. Washington Capitals
Of course nobody really expects Dallas to beat Washington, and there really isn’t too much reason to think that they will. However, upsets happen almost routinely in the NHL, and -320 is a hefty price tag to pay for any team in this league.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Los Angeles Kings
Once again, it’s hard not to expect the home team to take the win here, but it’s too much juice for a team that has cooled off significantly from their hot streak. The total doesn’t seem particularly profitable either, as legitimate arguments could probably be made for both the Over and the Under.
