David Perron Re-Signs for Two Years

Updated: July 21, 2010 at 5:34 pm by Alexander Monaghan
Fantasy Advice, Opinions

David Perron and the St. Louis Blues came to an agreement today to a two-year contract. According to Cap Geek, Perron will make a cap hit of 2.15 million over that span until he re-enters restricted free agency.

Perron registered career highs in goals last year with 20 even though his points totals, assists and +/- regressed.  As a highly skilled player, the Blues drafted him 26th overall back in 2007 and gave him a spot on the team the following season expecting growing pains.

Most young players will go through rough patches and finally settle themselves into their appropriate role around their fourth season– the year Perron is currently entering.

David Backes and TJ Oshie already play like first line talent but it may be Perron who actually produces more on the scorecard.  If he gets on a tear during preseason or even the beginning of the year be sure to grab him off the waiver wire or with a very late round pick in your draft.
