Fantasy Quick Hits – October 24, 2009

Fantasy Advice

LundqvistA lot of action in the NHL last night and I managed to pick up a few things while perusing through the games on NHL Center Ice.

Henrik Lundqvist: Poor Lundqvist.  He is one of the best goalies in the league in terms of pure talent but the Rangers give him no help.  The defenceman are constantly jumping up in the rush, the forwards don’t back check, and they give up a ton of 3 on 2’s.  This has led to a .851 SV% in his last three games.  In terms of fantasy value, there are lots of guys you should tab before King Henrik.

Max Pacioretty: The kid was -2 against the Rangers tonight in 8:27 of ice time.  He only has two points on the year thanks to limited ice time, playing about 11 minutes a game.  However, I think he is a guy to keep an eye on for next year.  He has the skill as demonstrated by his 39 points in 37 games for the University of Michigan in 2007-08.

Lubomir Visnovsky: I know I have said it before, but Visnovsky looks awesome for the Oilers.  Pick him up.  6 points in his last 5 games to go along with a +2 rating.

Patrick O’Sullivan: Wow is he snake bit or what.  Don’t let the pedestrian stats fool you; he is getting his fair share of chances and will start to bury them.  Ride out the slump if you have him on your team.
