Old Man Winter, 47-year-old Chris Chelios, is lacing ‘em up this year for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. The dude’s ancient and still showing up people half his age, so why not follow the guy as he buses around the A?

Posted every Tuesday (except this time. Which is a Sunday. It was a busy Tuesday…)

It was a good week-and-a-half in Chellyville. Chris Chelios racked up the points as the Chicago Wolves 3-2 over a 5-game span. Chelios picked up his first goal, a wicked slapshot game-winner on the powerplay, on November 1st against Rockford (video recap of the game here; goal at 3:14) along with 6 assists total over his 7 games so far. Chelios a point-per-game player, outscoring the likes of Mike Keane, the ever-pleased Sergei Kostitsyn, and Michael Nylander? Please sir! Maybe the AHL wasn’t such a bad career move after all.

Chelios has also been in the news recently for other reasons, getting dragged into the Ian Penny affair at the NHLPA, finger-pointed as a union hijacker by former NHLer Steve Larmer. Link.

And for old time’s sake, check out this classic.

The Wolves have most of this coming week off, not playing a game until November 13, 14 and 15, all in the state of Texas. So, no point in updating you until then, so until next time!
