The Senators have acquired Ryan Callahan and a 2020 fifth-round pick from the Lightning for Mike Condon and a 2020 sixth-round pick.

Callahan has one year left on his contract and will be placed on LTIR after suffering a career-ending back injury. Callahan had seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 52 games with the Lightning last season.

Callahan has degenerative disc disease of the lumbar spine that will likely end his career at the age of 34. Callahan has one-year remaining on his contract that would have carried a $5.8M cap-hit but LTIR will provide the Lightning with some cap relief. Callahan finished the 2018-19 season with seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in just 52 games.

Callahan has missed the first four games of the season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, but will be back tonight vs.the Red Wings. His return comes earlier than expected, but doesn’t bring a lot of offence to the lineup at this point in his career. Adam Erne is expected to be the healthy scratch.

Callahan has been cleared to contact but nothing has changed in the timetable for his return. The veteran winger is not expected to be back until November, so expect Cory Conacher and Adam Erne to remain on the Lightning fourth line for the time being.

Callahan has missed the last eight games with a shoulder injury but will return tonight in Montreal. Callahan has recorded just one goal and five assists (six points) in 29 games this season. Callahan will replace J.T. Brown on the fourth line.

Callahan has missed the last 15 games with lingering srness in his surgically-repaired hip. Callahan will take Brian Boyle’s spot in the lineup on a line with Valtteri Filppula nd Jonathan Drouin. He had two goals and two assists in his first 15 games.

Callahan has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but is set to return to the Lightning lineup on Thursday. At this point in his career Callahan is more of a depth forward than the 40-50 point player he used to be. He has just two goals and two assists (four points) in 15 games this season.
