#NYR No lineup changes for Rangers tmrw. No update on Fedotenko or Sauer. Torts: "I haven't even seen Michael."

Sauer remains out indefinitely with a concussion. Don't expect to see him in the lineup any time soon.

Michaerl Sauer (concussion) has had setback. Been shut down for several days. Not even working out, Torts says

Sounds like Sauer won't be back any time soon. Expect Anton Stralman and Stu Bickel to stick in the lineup for the time being.

No Michael Sauer on ice. Hopefully not a setback, but doesn't look good. We'll see #NYR

Sauer still has no timetable from his concussion. He posted a goal and three points in 19 games before getting hurt. Expect him to stabilize the blue line upon his return.

Tortorella said he's not aware of any setbacks for Michael Sauer, but assumes trainer kept him off ice to do work off it #NYR

Not being able to train certainly depleted Sauer's strength so his workout regime likely will focus on strength and conditioning. Once he returns, he should get the Rangers blue line back to full strength.

Also, defenseman Mike Sauer (concussion) is not on the ice for today’s practice, the second straight day he has not skated. Yesterday, coach John Tortorella reported “all’s good” with Sauer and said he was doing off-ice work with strength and conditioning coach Reg Grant.

Torts says Mike Sauer did off-ice workouts today. "All's good," Torts says about Sauer.

Getting Sauer back into the lineup would make the team's defense fully healthy for the first time all season. The St. Cloud, Minnesota native scored a goal and three points in 19 games before getting hurt.

Torts says Sauer is day-to-day, skated himself Monday too.

Torts reports that Michael Sauer (concussion) is "due to work out today...he had a good week (last week)", but has no further update

Sauer remains out indefinitely. His return to the lineup would certainly boost an already-strong Rangers blue line.

Mike Sauer
he is progressing, feeling better, taking part in contact drills...no timetable to return

Sauer is not an offensive defenseman therefore he doesn't have much fantasy hockey value. However, when he does return, expect the Rangers to get a boost on their blue line.

Torts says Mike Sauer (concussion) has done some very light workouts but "he's not going to be with us for a while."

Sauer won't play for the Rangers for quite a while after taking a huge hit from Dion Phaneuf. The oft-injured defenseman is working out which is a good sign for the concussion-like symptoms.

Mike Sauer
“He was diagnosed with a concussion,” Tortorella said. “I don’t know what grade. He’s day to day.”

Sauer is a big part of the team's blue line and will be missed. Expect his absence to hurt the team's overall defense which could hike up Henrik Lundqvist's GAA.

Sauer being helped off the ice after Phaneuf shoulders him in the head at 15:08 of the third period, Rangers trail 3-2.

Sauer will be reevaluated after the game as there is no current status on the defender. Considering his history of injuries, it would not be a surprise if he misses extensive playing time.

Line Change
Line Change
John Tortorella confirmed Sauer is back in tonight, but said "not sure" about remaining lineup questions #NYR

Sauer likely replaces Jeff Woywitka in the lineup tonight. No confirmation on who he pairs with.

Mike Sauer
The condition on defense will improve when Michael Sauer, rehabbing a previously separated and later aggravated right shoulder, returns to the lineup, but there still will be a massive hole to fill.

Sauer's return to the lineup could not come any sooner as the youngster will help stabilize a shaky defense. The St. Cloud native produced a plus-1 rating over his first two games but could not suit up for the last three with an ailing shoulder. Look for him to pair with either Michael Del Zotto or Tim Erixon when he returns.
