Montoya surrendered five goals on 46 shots and walked away with the win in Anaheim back on February 25th. Cam Talbot started the last seven games but Montoya will start the second game of the back-to-back tonight vs. the Sharks. He has gone 2-1-1 with a 3.15 GAA and .894 SV% in six appearances with the Oilers.

Montoya allowed five goals on 29 shots in the Oilers loss in San Jose on February 10th. Montoya has sat for the last seven games, but will get a crack in Anaheim on the tail-end of a back-to-back. The veteran has gone 1-1-1 with a 2.73 GAA and .895 SV% since joining the Oilers.

Montoya allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Oilers loss to the Avalanche on February 1st. Since joining the Oilers, Montoya has gone 1-0-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .921 SV% in one start and three relief appearances. Tonight he will face a Sharks team that comes in having lost six of their last eight games.

Tonight he gets his first start with the Oilers and comes in having stopped 43 of 45 shots (.956 SV%) in three relief appearances. Montoya has been sidelined for a lengthy period of time with a concussion but recently returned to practice. Acquiring Montoya means that the Oilers plan on sending Laurent Brossoit to Bakersfield (AHL) and use Montoya as Cam Talbot’s backup. Montoya has gone 2-1-0 with a 3.77 GAA and .863 SV% this season, but has a career .908 SV% in 160 NHL games.

Charlie Lindgren has started the last three games because he has been playing well, but apparently Montoya is dealing with an upper-body injury. With Montoya out, the Canadiens have recalled Zach Fucale and is expected to backup Lindgren on Saturday.

Montoya allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Canadiens’ win in Ottawa on Monday. With Carey Price battling a lower-body injury, Montoya will start tonight in Winnipeg. He has had a mixed bag of results through his first three appearances and draws a tough matchup against a Jets team that comes in on a three-game winning streak.

Montoya allowed five goals on 38 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Calgary on March 9th. He will give Carey Price a breather tonight vs. the Red Wings, in what will be his 18th start of the season. He is 1-1-1 with an impressive 0.84 GAA and .9968 SV% in four appearances at the Bell Centre.

Montoya allowed three goals on 21 shots in the Canadiens’ loss to the Blues on February 11th. Montoya has made 12 starts on the road this season, going 6-4-2 with a 3.06 GAA and .898 SV%. In his first start in New Jersey, Montoya stopped 16 of 17 shots in an easy 3-1 victory.

Montoya stopped all 32 shots that he faced in the Canadiens’ shutout win over the Oilers on February 5th. Montoya has been one of the better backups in the NHL this season and comes into play tonight with a 7-4-3 record, 2.52 GAA and .915 SV%.. Montoya has stopped all 73 shots that he’s faced on home-ice this season.
