Adam McQuaid News

The Blue Jackets have acquired Adam McQuaid from the Rangers for a 2019 fourth-round pick and a 2019 seventh-round pick.

McQuaid is a big (6-foot-4, 212 lbs.) right-handed defenseman that plays a physical brand of hockey but brings little-to-no offence. McQuaid has five points (2G / 3A), 19 shots, 99 hits and 76 blocked shots in 36 games with the Rangers this season.

McQuaid (leg) will return to the Bruins lineup on Wednesday.

McQuaid has not played since October 19th and has only appeared in six games with the Bruins this season. McQuaid will be the Bruins only line change tonight as he replaces Kevan Miller and will play alongside Matt Grzelcyk on the blueline.

McQuaid (lower-body) will return to the Bruins lineup on Thursday.

McQuaid left Sunday’s game in Vegas early, but he is ready to go tonight vs. the Canucks. McQuaid doesn’t offer much in terms of fantasy value having record just one assist, six shots and six blocks in five games so far.

McQuaid left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

McQuaid left the game after blocking a Colin Miller slapshot and had to be helped off of the ice. Miller was hit directly on the knee and could be forced to miss some time. Thankfully the Bruins have three days off before they take on the Canucks on Thursday. Monitor his status as the week moves along.

McQuaid (upper-body) has bee cleared to play; expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday.

McQuaid has missed the first five games with an upper-body injury, but has been practicing for nearly one week and has been cleared to return to the lineup tomorrow. Look for McQuaid to play on the second pair with Torey Krug.

McQuaid (undisclosed) may not be ready for the start of the regular season.

McQuaid missed some practice sessions over the weekend with an undisclosed injury and it looks as if he will not be ready for the start of the regular season. McQuaid’s injury leaves the door open for Brandon Carlo and/or Robbie O’Gara to crack the opening night roster.

McQuaid (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

McQuaid has been sidelined with an upper-body injury since January 5th, but is listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game. McQuaid skated as an extra in the morning skate, so I would expect him to miss at least one more game.

The Bruins have placed Adam McQuaid (upper-body) on IR.

McQuaid was injured in a hit from Zach Sill on Tuesday. Sill was suspended for two games as a result of the hit, but McQuaid will miss at least three after he was placed on IR on Thursday. With McQuaid out, look for Joe Morrow to get back into the lineup on Friday.

McQuaid (wrist) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

McQuaid blocked a shot on his wrist in Saturday's win, but he was on the ice for the Bruins morning skate. Head coach Claude Julien would not commit to saying that McQuaid would for sure play, so we have listed him as a game-time decision.

McQuaid (thumb) will be a game-time decision this afternoon.

McQuaid has been sidelined with a broken thumb since November 18th, but is medically cleared to play and could return to the lineup today. He is expected to take part in warmups and then coach Julien will make a decision on whether or not he plays vs. the Senators. With a back-to-back today and tomorrow, it would seem logical to sit McQuaid today and have him return tomorrow vs. Carolina.

McQuaid will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb.

The injuries on the Bruins’ blue line continue to mount. McQuaid was limited to just 30 games last season and his injury woes continue. Expect Zach Trotman, who was sent down yesterday, to be recalled. However, Kevan Miller should get into the lineup on Friday.

McQuaid (quad strain) will be shutdown for 2-3 weeks.

McQuaid has not played since January 19 and he has missed a total of 31 games with injuries this season. His inability to stay healthy and losing Dennis Seidenberg for the season forced the Bruins to claim Corey Potter off of waivers and send a third-round pick to the Flyers for Andrej Meszaros.
