The Canadiens will put Ben Scrivens on waivers.

The Canadiens signed Charlie Lindgren to a two-year contract to finish the season out with the Canadiens. With his signing, Montreal had to make room on the roster, so they have placed Ben Scrivens on waivers. Scrivens was 5-8-0 with a 3.07 GAA and .906 SV% in 15 games since being acquired from Edmonton.

Scrivens allowed five goals on 44 shots in the Canadiens loss in Ottawa last Saturday. Mike Condon started the last two games, but they’ll go back to Scrivens tonight in Detroit. Scrivens is 2-2-0 with a 3.21 GAA and .914 SV% in March and has really struggled on the road this season, going 1-6-0 with a 3.71 GAA and .891 SV% away from Montreal.

Scrivens allowed three goals on 33 shots in the in the Canadiens win over the Stars on March 8th. Mike Condon started the last three games, including last night, so the Habs turn to Scrivens tonight in Buffalo. Scrivens was pulled after allowing three goals on eight shots in his first start vs. the Sabres.

Scrivens allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Canadiens loss in Los Angeles last Thursday. Scrivens last three starts have not gone as planned—he has gone 0-3-0 with a 3.89 GAA and .866 SV% over that span. He draws a rough matchup this evening with the Stars in town. Dallas has lost four of their last six, but remain one of the highest scoring teams in the NHL.

Scrivens allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Canadiens loss in Colorado on February 17th. Scrivens has gone 3-5-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .901 SV% in nine starts with the Habs. He draws a tough matchup vs. his former team in Los Angeles, who have won four of their last five, but have averaged just 2.00 goals per game over that span.

Scrivens was yanked after giving up three goals on eight shots in the Canadiens loss in Buffalo last Friday. The loss snapped Scrivens’ three-game winning streak and was the fifth time in eight starts that Scrivens has allowed at least three goals. Tonight he faces an Avalanche team that has lost five of their last seven.

Scrivens allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Canadiens win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Scrivens has won three straight games while posting a 1.30 GAA and .959 SV%. His recent stretch of strong play has earned him a fourth consecutive start. He draws a strong matchup in Buffalo—the Sabres have lost four in a row while being outscored 16-8.

Scrivens stopped 34 of 35 shots in the Canadiens shootout win over the Hurricanes on Sunday. He won back-to-back games this weekend, stopping 57 of 59 shots (.966 SV%) and earning himself a third straight start. He was terrible in his first four starts with the Habs cranked things up over the weekend. On Tuesday, he draws a rough matchup vs. the Lightning.

Scrivens turned aside 23 of 24 shots in the Canadiens win over the Oilers on Saturday. It was his first NHL win of the season and by far best performance of the season, which has earned him the nod on back-to-back days. He will be facing a Hurricanes team that has won three of four while scoring 4.00 goals per game.

Scrivens allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Canadiens loss to the Blue Jackets on January 26th. Scrivens has gone 0-4-0 with a 3.84 GAA and .873 SV% since being acquired by the Canadiens. He will face his former team this afternoon. The Oilers have scored 12 goals in two games since getting Connor McDavid back.

Scrivens allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Chicago on January 17th. Since being acquired from the Oilers, Scrivens has loss all three of his starts while posting an ugly 3.77 GAA and .882 SV%. Tonight he faces the Blue Jackets, who pushed five past Mike Condon last night.

Scrivens allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Canadiens loss in Philadelphia on January 5th. Mike Condon has started the last four games, including last night in St. Louis, so Scrivens will make his third start tonight. He has allowed seven goals on 61 shots (.885 SV%) in his first two starts with the Habs. Chicago comes in having won 10 straight, so stay away from Scrivens tonight.

Scrivens made 27 saves on 30 shots in the Canadiens loss in Florida on December 29th. It was a so-so Montreal debut for Scrivens, who got a free trip to the Winter Classic after being acquired from Edmonton. Tonight Scrivens draws a nice matchup against the Flyers, who have lost three straight and rank 28th in the NHL with 2.06 goals per game on home ice.

Mike Condon started the first game of the Habs’ back-to-back, so they will go to Scrivens on Tuesday, just a day after being acquired from Edmonton. He was 2-6-1 with a 3.47 GAA and .893 SV% with Bakersfield (AHL) before being dealt. Those sketchy numbers and a matchup with a Panthers team that has won six in a row, has me looking in other directions.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired Ben Scrivens from the Edmonton Oilers for Zack Kassian.

Scrivens, who was the Oilers starter last year, has gone 2-6-1 with a 3.47 GAA and .893 SV% with Bakersfield (AHL) this season. The Canadiens wanted to get rid of Kassian and are in need of goaltending help with Carey Price still out. Scrivens has registered a career 2.90 GAA and .905 SV% in his four-year NHL career.

The Oilers placed Ben Scrivens on waivers with intent to assign him to Bakersfield (AHL).

Scrivens posted a 1.97 GAA and .929 SV% in three preseason games, but it wasn’t enough to beat out Anders Nilsson for the Oilers’ backup job. Scrivens was the Oilers’ starter last season, but will likely be the Condors’ starter this year.

Scrivens surrendered four goals on 29 shots in the Oilers loss to the Flames last Saturday. Scrivens has sat out the last two games, but will start the final game of the season tonight in Vancouver. He is 15-26-10 with a 3.11 GAA and .892 SV% on the season and has not beat the Canucks this season…so don’t try to get fancy on the last day.

Scrivens was yanked after allowing five goals on 21 shots in the Kings demolition of the Oilers on Thursday. He has allowed 10 goals on 48 shots (.792 SV%) in his last two starts. Scrivens has gone 0-2-1 with a 3.68 GAA and .870 SV% in his first three starts against the Flames this season.
