Versteeg (hip) will return to the Flames lineup on Friday.

Versteeg has been sidelined for 49 games after undergoing hip surgery in late-November. The veteran will likely be eased back into the lineup and returns with eight points (3G / 5A) in 22 games this season.

Versteeg practiced with the Flames AHL affiliate during their road-trip but was back on the ice with the Flames on Monday. It was his first full practice since hip surgery in late-November. Versteeg skated on the third line and could return to the lineup Tuesday vs. the Oilers.

The Flames are on a road-trip so Versteeg will bee with Stockton until the Flames return to Calgary. Versteeg is hoping to get clearance to return to the Flames lineup when they return from the road trip.

Versteeg has been out since November 24th after undergoing hip surgery. There was no timetable on his return at the time, so his meeting with his surgeon tomorrow will provide a bit more clarity on when he’ll be back.

Versteeg will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered last Friday in Dallas. Versteeg will be replaced by Freddie Hamilton at even-strength and Mark Jankowski figures to see some PP1 time.

Versteeg has bounced around during his NHL career, but has been a solid scorer throughout his 10 years. The 31-year-old had 15 goals and 22 assists (37 points) in 69 games with the Flames last season and will be back for another year as a top-9 forward in 2017-18.

Versteeg has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but is nearing a return, so there’s a chance that he plays vs. the Lightning. Versteeg has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 19 games this season.

Versteeg will come out of the lineup on Thursday, which means that Michael Ferland will move up and play with Sean Monahan and Lance Bouma will draw into the lineup after being sidelined by and upper-body injury of his own. Consider Versteeg as day-to-day.

Versteeg has been sidelined by a groin injury since November 3rd, but will get back into the fold tonight in Columbus. With Johnny Gaudreau out, Versteeg will assume a top-6 role on a line with Sean Monahan and Troy Brouwer. Versteeg has registered two goals and two assists (four points) in 12 games this season.

Versteeg signed with the Flames on Tuesday and it looks like he will play with Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan in his debut tonight. Versteeg has a chance to sting the Oilers right away after deciding to sign with their rival instead.

Versteeg was in Oilers’ training camp on a professional tryout, but signed with the Flames one day before they are set to meet in the season opener. Versteeg split his 2015-16 campaign between the Hurricanes and Kings, amassing 15 goals and 23 assists (38 points) across 74 games. The Flames are fairly thin at right wing, so Versteeg could earn himself a top-6 role early in the year.

Versteeg is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play tonight. There's no word on when Versteeg is expected to be back in the Kings lineup, but he is expected to be back before the playoffs.

Versteeg won a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks last season and has picked up 11 goals and 22 assists (33 points) in 63 games with the Hurricanes this season. He’ll have a shot at another Stanley Cup this season as he joins the Kings, where he could find himself in their top-6.

He has amassed 275 career points (116G / 159A) in 473 career NHL games between the Blackhawks, Maple Leafs, Flyers and Panthers. This trade should help Versteeg's fantasy value as he will likely land a top six role in Carolina.

Versteeg has missed the first two gamers of the series wither a lower-body injury, but he is in Minnesota with the team and is expected to take part in the morning skate. He has been replaced by Teuvo Tervainen, who has one goal and one assist in the first two games against Minnesota.

Versteeg had one goal in six games during the first round and it looks like he will be a healthy scratch in Game 1 on Friday. With Versteeg likely out, Teuvo Teravainen is expected to get back into the lineup.
