Christian Ehrhoff News

The Blackhawks have acquired Christian Ehrhoff from the Kings for Rob Scuderi.

Ehrhoff, 33, has been acquired by the Blackhawks to provide depth on the blueline. He has not been the same player since having concussion issues with the Penguins last season. He had 10 points (2G / 8A) in 40 games with the Kings and three assists in five games with Ontario (AHL) this season. He has offensive ability, but likely won’t play a large enough role in Chicago to be a fantasy contributor.

On Sunday, the Kings signed Christian Ehrhoff to a one-year deal worth $1.5M.

Ehrhoff registered three goals and 11 assists (14 points) in 49 games with the Penguins last season. Ehrhoff missed a lot of time in 2014-15 because of concussion issues, but is reportedly healthy heading into this season. If he is healthy in 2015-16 he should be able to get back to 30 points—he will likely find himself on the Kings’ second PP unit.

Erhoff left Wednesday's game with an undisclosed injury and did not return.

Ehrhoff, who missed 19 of the Penguins' past 24 games, appeared dizzy after the side of his head hit the boards following a Vladimir Tarasenko hit early in the first period. Coach Mike Johnston said said after the game that he had no update on Ehrhoff's status. He has eben battling concussion issues since mid-January.
