The Blackhawks have acquired Tomas Fleischmann and Dale Weise from the Canadiens for Phillip Danault and a 2018 2nd round pick.

Fleischmann, 31, is a pending unrestricted free agent, so the Blackhawks have acquired him as a rental winger, who will likely play on their third line. The veteran winger has 10 goals and 10 assists (20 points) in 57 games this season and is expected to make his Blackhawks’ debut on Saturday.

Dineen: “He had a pretty good day today, so we’re feeling positive that he got a quality chance to be in this weekend. I haven’t made that final decision yet, but I’m encouraged by how he feels and how he looks today, and the medical feedback. So that’s a positive. We’re feeling good that he’s got a good chance of playing.”

Fleischmann remains questionable for this weekend's games after taking a high hit against the Rangers. The top-line winger went under observation and by all accounts sounds optimistic. Expect an update prior to game time.
