The Ducks acquired Jhonas Enroth from the Maple Leafs for a 2018 seventh round pick.

Late Tuesday night, the Ducks acquired Enroth from Toronto to shore up their goaltending depth, particularly at the AHL level, with Dustin Tokarski battling an injury. Enroth has had a very difficult season, going 0-3-1 with a 3.94 GAA and .872 SV% with the Maple Leafs and 2-1-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .904 SV% with the Marlies.

Enroth served as Frederik Andersen’s backup or the last two games while Antoine Bibeau was in the AHL getting some game action. They have swapped places so Enroth returns to the Marlies, where he is 1-0-0 with an .889 SV%.

Enroth has a modest .911 career SV% and is a serviceable backup who will get a lot of offensive support, but not nearly as much defensive support as he had in Los Angeles a year ago.

Enroth, 28, spent the 2015-16 season with the Kings, where he started 13 games and appeared in three others. He finished the season with a 7-5-1 record, 2.17 GAA, .922 SV% and two shutouts. The former second round pick has a career .911 SV% with the Sabres, Stars and Kings. Enroth will serve as Frederik Andersen’s backup in Toronto.
