Cody McCormick News

McCormick (lower-body) will be a game-time decision tonight in New Jersey.

McCormick has been held out of practice since Saturday’s game in New York, but he feels good enough to give it a go in warmups tonight. If he is unable to go, the Sabres will dress seven defensemen.

The Sabres signed Cody McCormick to a three-year, $4.5 million dollar deal.

McCormick returns to Buffalo for his fifth season with the Sabres after finishing the 2013-14 season with 14 games as a member of the Minnesota Wild. McCormick was a part of the trade that sent Matt Moulson to the Wild, but now they are both back with the Sabres for the next few years.

The Sabres have traded Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick to the Wild for Torrey Mitchell, a 2014 second-round pick and 2016 second-round pick.

Mitchell had made it known that he was unhappy in Minnesota, so the Sabres off-load McCormick who is in the final year of his deal to replace Mitchell. McCormick is not fantasy relevant, he will skate on the Wild's fourth line. He has one goal and four assists in 29 games this season.
