Hishon will make his NHL regular season debut on Wednesday.

Hishon had one assist in three NHL playoff games in 2013-14 and 32 points (14G / 18A) in 50 games with Lake Erie this season. The 23-year-old, former first round pick (17th overall in 2010) will centre the Avs’ fourth line with Marc-Andre Cliche and Cody McLeod on his flanks.

Hishon will replace Brad Malone in the Avalanche lineup for game 7.

Hishon did not play any regular season games for the Avalanche this season, but had 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) in 50 games with Lake Erie (AHL). He was a healthy scratch in game 6 after playing in games 4 and 5. He is averaging seven minutes a night through his first two playoff games, but could play more tonight as he suits up on the third line with Max Talbot Jamie McGinn.

Roy said he will evaluate Hishon at the practice and make a decision after that whether he thinks he can handle being thrown into the Avs’ lineup for Game 4 at Xcel Energy Center.

Hishon would be playing in his first career NHL game if Roy does insert him into the lineup.

The one notable absence is forward Joey Hishon, the Avs’ first-round pick from 2010. Unfortunately, Hishon is still bothered by concussion symptoms.

As Dater notes, there was an outside shot Hishon made the roster this season. At this point, dynasty owners can only hope for a speedy recovery that does not hinder his development.
