Roman Horak News

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled forward Roman Horak and defenseman Brett Carson from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League while assigning forward Greg Nemisz to Abbotsford.

Horak scored two goals and nine points through 25 games and figures to center a line on the big club.

The #Flames doing some powerplay work; first unit had Glencross/Moss-Horak-Iginla up front with Tanguay-Giordano on the point.

Looks like Horak gets some PP time. Last season he scored 26 goals and 78 points as a member of the now-defunct Chilliwack Bruins. Look for him to produce a few goals with his veteran linemates but he will likely be available on the waiver wire in your league.

Sounds like Roman Horak will be on the #Flames to start the season. Sutter says it'd have happened regardless of the Backlund injury.

Horak makes the camp regardless of the injury but may get sent down when the team gets fully healthy. Last season he scored 26 goals and 78 points as a member of the now-defunct Chilliwack Bruins. Look for him to produce a few goals with his veteran linemates but he will likely be available on the waiver wire in your league.

20-yr-old Roman Horak will open the season as the Flames' 3rd line centre between Stempniak and Bourque. #timerixonwho? #flames

Horak, who came over from the New York Rangers in exchange for Tim Erixon, surprisingly made the team out of camp. Last season he scored 26 goals and 78 points as a member of the now-defunct Chilliwack Bruins. Look for him to produce a few goals with his veteran linemates.

It's another look for Roman Horak and Paul Byron, along with Lance Bouma; all three guys are hoping to crack the opening day lineup if injury situations play in, or if there is merit for them to be playing.

Horak has yet to play an AHL game but improved in both of his two seasons in the WHL. Expect him to need at least a year of seasoning in the AHL.
