The Golden Knights have recalled Sven Baertschi from Henderson (AHL).

With both Jonathan Marchessault and William Carrier landing on the COVID-19 protocol list, the Golden Knights have recalled Baertschi and Paul Cotter. Baertschi has scored four goals with four assists (eight points) in 12 games with Henderson this season.

Baertschi has been seeking a trade for the majority of the 2019-20 season after spending most of the season posting over point-per-game numbers in the AHL. Baertschi was invited to training camp, which starts Monday but will stay home and be replaced by Kole Lind on the roster. Baertschi joins Flames' defenseman Travis Hamonic as the second player to opt-out of the NHL playoffs.

Baertschi has been sitting as a healthy scratch but will replace Adam Gaudette in the lineup on Friday. Baertschi had a nice start to the season in the AHL, posting 10 points (2G / 8A) in seven games. He is expected to skate on the Bo Horvat line.

Baertschi was a surprise training camp casualty but has unsurprisingly dominated the AHL since then, tying for 10th in the league in points with 10 (2G / 8A) in just seven games. Micheal Ferland suffered an upper-body injury in a fight with Kyle Clifford on Wednesday, so look for Baertschi to take his spot in the lineup on Friday.

Baertschi played just 6:34 TOI before leaving Wednesday’s game with an upper-body injury. Leaving last night’s contest makes Baertschi questionable for Thursday’s game in Arizona. Brock Boeser (groin) may return tonight and replace Baertschi in the lineup.

Baertschi separated his shoulder vs. the Predators on Friday and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Baertschi finishes the year with 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points) in 53 games.

Baertschi left Saturday’s game in Calgary after taking a puck to the face and returned to Vancouver over the weekend. The Canucks announced on Monday that Baertschi will miss at least one month with a fractured jaw. The Canucks are without two-thirds of their top line with Baertschi joins Bo Horvat on the shelf.

Baertschi missed last night’s game in Columbus with a concussion that he suffered on Tuesday. Baertschi returned to Vancouver, which suggests that he could miss the final four games of the Canucks’ road trip. Reid Boucher is expected to remain in the lineup while Baertschi is out.

Baertschi left last night’s loss with a concussion and did not return. Baertschi played just 1:53 before leaving the game following a hit from Cody McLeod. Baertschi will likely miss a couple of games, so expect Reid Boucher to draw into the in Columbus on Thursday.
