St. Pierre was recalled from Hamilton on Monday and will skate on the Canadiens fourth line tonight. The 30-year-old has eight career NHL points in 38 games. This season with Hamilton he has three goals and five assists in seven games.

defenseman Nick Holden and forwards Alexandre Giroux and Martin St. Pierre were placed on waivers. If they clear waivers at noon Monday, Holden and St. Pierre will be assigned to Springfield.

Injury

-- LW Matt Calvert (maintenance day) and C Martin St. Pierre (groin) didn’t skate this morning, but their injuries are considered minor, according to coach Scott Arniel.

Probably somewhat hurts St. Pierre's chances of making the team. The diminutive center scored eight goals and 14 points last season with Karpat of SM Liiga but also bounced around the KHL and Austrian League. He has very slim chances of making the team.
