Niklas Backstrom is dealing with abdominal soreness and will not be available tonight, so Gustafsson will back-up Darcy Kuemper.

Gustafsson had been recalled because Niklas Backstrom was sidelined for a couple of days after receiving a cortisone shot. Gustafsson returns to the AHL where he is 7-7-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .910 SV%.

Josh Harding is still out with an illness while Niklas Backstrom will be off of the ice for the next few days after receiving a cortisone shot for a nagging lower-body injury. Gustafsson has been recalled to back up Darcy Kuemper on Tuesday night in Dallas.

With Josh Harding going on injured reserve, Gustafsson has been recalled to serve as Niklas Backstrom's backup while Harding is out. Gustafsson has never played a game in the NHL and is in his first season with Iowa. He is 4-4-0 with a 2.95 GAA and .898 SV% in nine games.

Gustafsson did not appear in a game for Minnesota and will return to Iowa where he is 3-1-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .920 SV%. Darcy Kuemper has been recalled to backup Josh Harding.
