Pedan was a third-round pick in 2011 and has only appeared in 13 NHL games since. The Lithuanian defenseman had 10 points (5G / 5A) and 100 PIMS in 52 games with Utica (AHL) last season. He is expected to start the year with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).
Pedan, 23, never appeared in a game during his call-up and will swap places with Jordan Subban as he heads back to Utica. Pedan has two goals and one assist (three points) in 22 games with Utica.

Pedan has been a healthy scratch in the last five games and his return to the AHL suggests that Luca Sbisa is nearing a return from injury.
Pedan played just 3:45 TOI in his NHL debut on Tuesday and has been swapped out for Ronalds Kenins with the Canucks in need of a forward and not a defenseman.
Pedan, 22, was a third round pick (63 rd overall) of the Islanders in 2011. He has seven points (1G / 6A) in 15 games with Utica this season. With Ben Hutton out for at least two weeks, Pedan will serve as the Canucks’ seventh defenseman and could make his NHL debut sometime in the near future.
