Jacob Larsson has been recalled from the Belleville Senators (AHL).

Larsson had two goals, two assists, 14 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus in 18 games with the Belleville Senators (AHL) but has earned his first NHL call up of the season Wednesday. The 26-year-old stay-at-home defensemen returns to the NHL for his seventh career season and will hope to add to the three goals and 14 points he has amassed over 172 career games played.

The Senators signed Jacob Larsson to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

Larsson spent most of 2023 in the AHL, where he had 17 points (4G / 13A) in 55 games with Belleville. During his time with Ottawa, he was held pointless with four shots and seven hits in seven games. It sounds like the Senators couldn't get Travis Hamonic re-signed, so they re-signed Larsson to maintain the blueline depth.

Jacob Larsson has been reassigned to Belleville (AHL).

With the recent addition of Jakob Chychrun, Jacob Larsson finds himself the odd man out of the Senators' roster and will head back to Belleville (AHL) after failing to pick up a point through seven games with Ottawa. The 25-year-old defenseman returns to the minors, where he had two goals, 10 points and 24 PIMs across 37 games played prior to his promotion.

Larsson will draw into the Senators' lineup on Tuesday.

Larsson last suited up for the Senators on November 21st but will find himself back in their lineup Tuesday as they take on the New York Islanders. Through his three games played this season, he has yet to pick up a point but has four PIMs and is a -1 plus/minus.

Jacob Larsson has been recalled from Belleville (AHL).

Larsson has been recalled from Belleville (AHL) for the second time this season after failing to pick up a point in his first three-game showing with the Senators earlier this season but getting four PIMs. Larsson had five assists, 14 PIMs and a -13 plus/minus in 24 games with Belleville (AHL) prior to his promotion.

Jacob Larsson
The Senators have signed Jacob Larsson to a one-year, two-way contract.

Larsson is a former first-round pick (No.27 overall in 2015) who has 165 career NHL games under his belt, all with the Anaheim Ducks. However, he spent almost all of 2021-22 in the AHL, where he had two goals and 13 assists (15 points) in 55 games. The Senators' blueline is very thin, so Larsson could see some NHL playing time in 2022-23.
