Foote has been limited to only four games with the Devils this season, spending most of his time with the Utica Comets (AHL), scoring nine points (2G / 7A) in 24 games. He will be away from the Devils' team indefinitely on a leave of absence.

Foote was recalled to help stabilize a depleted blueline for the Devils, who placed Jonas Siegenthaler (broken foot) on the injured reserve Tuesday morning. Foote spent portions of the last two seasons in the NHL, splitting time between Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning, but has been exclusively in the AHL this season, scoring nine points (2G / 7A) in 24 games with the Utica Comets.

Foote spent most of the last two weeks with the Devils as a depth defenceman but was never given the opportunity to crack the lineup. Before his call-up, Foote had two points (1G / 1A) in three games with the Utica Comets of the AHL.

Foote has yet to make his debut with the Devils but could find his way into the lineup after being recalled from the Utica Comets of the AHL on Monday. In three games with the Comets, Foote scored two points (1G / 2A) and had a -3 plus/minus rating. He had seven points (2G / 5A) in 50 NHL games last season between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators.

Foote had two goals, five assists, 63 PIMs, 39 SOG, and a +6 plus/minus through 50 games with Nashville and Tampa Bay in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $800,000 AAV with New Jersey. The 24-year-old defenseman will join his younger brother Nolan in the Devils' organization and brings five goals, 19 points, and 121 PIMs through 141 career games across three seasons to New Jersey.

Foote was traded to the Predators' over the weekend as part of the Tanner Jeannot deal with Tampa Bay and will make his Nashville debut Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old has a goal, two assists, 21 SOG, 28 PIMs and a +3 plus/minus through 26 games with Tampa this season.

Foote was the No.14 overall pick in 2017 and has served as a No.6/7 defenseman for the Lightning for the last three seasons. In total, he's scored just four goals with 11 assists (15 points) in 117 NHL games. Foote could see more regular playing time in Nashville, especially if they continue to sell off pieces.

Foote has been a healthy scratch for the Lightning since January 21st but will draw back into the lineup Thursday as they take on the Colorado Avalanche. The 24-year-old has a goal, two assists, 15 SOG, 26 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus through 21 games this season.

Foote has been out since November 11th after taking a hit to the head from Washington's Nicholas Aube-Kubel. It was a tough injury for Foote who has only played in 10 games this season and has one goal along with a +2 plus/minus.

Foote was scratched Tuesday vs. the Senators and will remain out of the lineup on Thursday. Andrej Sustr will suit up on the third pairing once again.

Foote will come out of the Lightning lineup on Thursday and will be replaced by Darren Raddysh, who will make his NHL debut.

Foote has played in four straight games and 11 of the last 12 but will be scratched on Tuesday with Erik Cernak returning from an upper-body injury.

Foote missed the start of the season after undergoing surgery on his finger in the offseason, so he was sent to Syracuse on a conditioning loan. He failed to record a point and was a minus-5 in five games with the Crunch.
