Stewart will be back in the Flames lineup on Tuesday.

Stewart was a healthy scratch for the last five games but will re-enter the lineup tonight with Mathew Tkachuk day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Stewart has no points in two games with the Flames and has just 13 points (9G / 4A) in 49 games this season.

The Flames have claimed Chris Stewart off of waivers from the Wild.

Stewart has just 13 points (9G/4A) in 47 games this season. He was having a hard time staying in the Wild lineup, as him and Marcus Foligno were in a bit of a timeshare for the 12th forward spot. After averaging just 10 minutes of ice time per game this season, he may see an increased workload in Calgary so long as Michael Ferland (undisclosed) remains sidelined.

The Wild signed Chris Stewart to a two-year contract worth $4.6 million ($2.3M AAV).

Stewart was with the Wild for the second half of 2014-15, before going to the Ducks last season where he collected 20 points (8G / 12A) in 56 games. The former first round pick has struggled to gain any real traction in his NHL career and is more of a bottom-6 depth forward than the top-6 power-forward he was projected to be.

The Wild have acquired Chris Stewart from the Sabres for a 2017 2nd round draft pick.

Stewart will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, so the Sabres unloaded him to the Wild for a 2nd round draft choice. Stewart has 11 goals and 14 assists (25 points) in 61 games. The Wild are hoping that leaving an ugly scene in Buffalo and coming to a potential playoff team will spark some more offence from the 6-foot-2, 228 lbs. winger.
