Waiver Move
The Predators have claimed Luca Sbisa off of waivers from the Jets.
Sbisa will turn 31 in late-January and is now with his fifth team since 2017. Sbisa has registered six goals and 32 assists (38 points) in 165 games with the Canucks, Golden Knights, Islanders and Jets over that span.
The Jets have inked Luca Sbisa to a one-year deal worth $800K.
Sbisa was part of the Jets' blueline rotation in 2020, tallying 10 points (2G / 8A) in 44 games. Sbisa is a big, physical defenseman, who ranked second among Jets' defensemen in Hits/60. Without adding any defensemen as of now, Sbisa will likely serve a similar role in 2021.
Sbisa is expected to miss at least a week with an upper-body injury.
Sbisa (undisclosed) is not expected to play on Saturday.
Sbisa was hurt Thursday after blocking a David Perron shot and will not be available for Saturday's afternoon clash with the Senators. With Sbisa out, Anthony Bitetto will draw back in.

Sbisa was claimed off of waivers from the Ducks and will fill-in for Patrik Laine and dress as a seventh defenseman on Tuesday. Sbisa had one assist in nine games with the Islanders in his most recent NHL campaign (2018-19).

The Jets have claimed Luca Sbisa off of waivers from Anaheim.
The Ducks were planning on signing Sbisa but he had to pass through waivers first. The Jets shut that idea down by claiming the 29-year-old defenseman. He had one assist in nine games with the Islanders last year and has 103 points (18G / 85A) in 504 career NHL games with the Flyers, Ducks, Canucks, Golden Knights and Islanders.

Sbisa is expected to be back in the Islanders lineup on Saturday.
Sbisa has been a healthy scratch for the last eight games but will replace Adam Pelech on Saturday. Sbisa has just one assist while averaging 15:26 TOI/gm in five contests this season.

Sbisa had one assist, a minus-1 rating and two PIMS in the first two games of the season. The Islanders will try to get all of their bodies into the lineup early in the year, so Scott Mayfield will replace Sbisa this afternoon.

Sbisa will be out 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair ruptured ligaments in his left hand.
After returning to the lineup last Friday, Sbisa suffered a hand injury that will require surgery and force him to miss at least a month and a half. Sbisa had a nice season going before getting hurt the first time, having collected 10 points (1G / 9A) in his first 24 games with the Golden Knights.
