Marc Methot News

Methot (upper-body) is not expected to play on Wednesday.

Methot was forced to leave Tuesday’s loss in Montreal with an upper-body injury and is not expected to play in Toronto on Wednesday. It has been a brutal season for Methot in terms of injuries, so look for the Stars to be patient to make sure he’s ready for the playoffs. Julius Honka will likely replace him in the lineup against the Maple Leafs.

Methot (lower-body) did not travel to start the Stars three-game road trip.

Methot will miss his third consecutive game with a lower-body injury that he suffered November 6th vs. the Jets. The Stars have plenty of blueline depth so this injury shouldn’t affect them too much. He has no fantasy relevance has he’s failed to pick up a point with just 13 shots in 15 games this season.

The Stars acquired Marc Methot from the Golden Knights for Dylan Ferguson and a 2020 second round pick.

Methot is a solid depth defeseman, but has limited offensive upside. In 2016-17, the 32-year-old had 12 assists in 68 games and has not topped 20 points in the last three seasons. Methot joins a Stars’ blueline that is crowded with young defensemen.
