Fedor Tyutin News

Tyutin (lower-body) is expected to be back in the Colorado lineup on Thursday.

Tyutin has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but it looks like he will be back in tonight in Boston. There’s no word on who he will replace, but Tyson Barrie missed the morning skate with an illness, so it could be Barrie, Cody Goloubef or Eric Gelinas.

The Avalanche signed Fedor Tyutin to a one-year deal worth $2 million.

Tyutin, 32, has had some strong offensive years during his 12-year career, but he is coming off of his worst season, having recorded just three points (1G / 2A) in 61 games with the Blue Jackets. He was bought out by Columbus, but brings a lot of experience to a relatively young Avalanche blueline.

Tyutin (lower-body) could return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Tyutin was a full participant in the Blue Jackets’ practice on Monday and could be back on the blue line tomorrow vs. the Red Wings. Tyutin has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since November 14th. If Tyutin returns, expect Kevin Connauton to take a seat.

Columbus’ Tyutin on IR, expected to miss 4-6 weeks

It appears as if the Columbus Blue Jackets did indeed trade for Jordan Leopold in part because of injury issues: Fedor Tyutin is headed to injured reserve and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, the Columbus Dispatch’s Shawn Mitchell reports. Tyutin appeared to hurt his left knee (officially a “lower-body injury”) in a collision with Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek. The 31-year-old has two assists in 16 games so far in 2014-15. He’s seen a drop in ice time lately; after averaging more than 24 minutes per contest in both 2011-12 and 2012-13, he slipped to 21:25 last season and is averaging 20:18 per night so far this year.

Tyutin (undisclosed) is questionable for Tuesday’s game.

There is no word when Tyutin suffered the injury, but it was likely during the Blue Jackets loss to the Lightning on Saturday. With no idea what the injury is, it is impossible to say what might happen, so for now consider him questionable and monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate.
