Scott Glennie News

The Stars have put forward Scott Glennie (concussion-like symptoms) on injured reserve. Once he is activated he will be assigned to the Texas Stars of the AHL.

Last season, Glennie scored 35 goals and 91 points for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, proving he was ready for the next step. Keep an eye on this situation as it may directly effect his NHL future.

Glennie was hit hard in a training camp scrimmage up in PEI and left the ice. It was defined as he ``tweaked'' something at the time, and then we didn't hear much about it. We haven't seen him working out much and he has not been on the ice at all. There's reason for that.

Certainly not an encouraging sign for a developing power forward. Last season, Glennie scored 35 goals and 91 points for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, proving he was ready for the next step. Keep an eye on this situation as it may directly effect his NHL future.

Scott Glennie is day-to-day, but is not expected to be ready by the weekend.

Glennie likely needs more seasoning before making the team but the organization is sitting him out in order to prevent further injury. In four games with the Texas Stars of the AHL. the former Brandon Wheat King was held pointless. Expect at least one year of seasoning with their affiliate.

Forward Scott Glennie, who did not participate in Sunday’s scrimmage due to what the team called a “tweak” did not practice on Monday.

Glennie should be fine but his setback likely hurts his chances of making the team out of training camp. The Stars' top forward prospect could use a bit more seasoning at the AHL level, only playing 10 games above the WHL.
