Andersson, 27, has split his time between the Red Wings and the Griffins this season. He has just three points (1G / 2A) in 28 games with Detroit and three goals, two assists in 19 games with Grand Rapids. There’s no word if his recall is injury related or if the Red Wings are looking to get a more defensive minded player on their fourth line in Saturday’s season finale.
Andersson was a healthy scratch in the last three games, so he heads to Grand Rapids, where he will look to get some games in.
Andersson was sent down prior to Monday’s game in Brooklyn, but has been recalled for the All-Star break. There’s no word if another roster move will be made after the break.

Andersson has no points in five games. Going back to the AHL is an indication Justin Abdelkader can play tonight.
