Drew Miller News

The Red Wings have recalled Drew Miller from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Miller has been with Grand Rapids for one month and recorded two goals and one assist (three points) in seven games. The Red Wings traded Tomas Jurco during their bye week, so Miller has been called-up to take the final roster spot. He had five goals and one assist (six points) in 35 games with the Red Wings.

Drew Miller has cleared waivers and been assigned to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Miller was a healthy scratch for the last two games with Darren Helm back in the lineup. Miller has five goals and one assist in 34 games this season and could be called back up for Tuesday’s game with both Thomas Vanek (lower-body) and Dylan Larkin (upper-body) out.

Miller will miss 4-6 months after reconstruction of his ACL and meniscus.

Miller was placed on long-term IR on January 11th but it was announced on Tuesday that he will be out for the next 4-6 months after undergoing knee surgery. Miller is a pending unrestricted free agent, so this could spell the end of his career with the Red Wings.

Miller (lower-body) will not play on Monday.

Miller suffered a lower-body injury in Sunday’s win in Anaheim and will be out of the lineup on Monday. With Miller out, Joakim Andersson will be in the lineup. Miller could miss an extended period of time, but the severity of his injury has not been determined.

Miller (jaw) has been cleared to play on Thursday.

Miller has missed the last 14 games with a broken jaw, but was activated from IR on Tuesday and should be in the lineup on Thursday. With Miller back, the Red Wings had to send Tomas Nosek back to Grand Rapids. Miller has one goal and one assist in 26 games this season.

Miller will miss six weeks with a broken jaw; will have surgery on Saturday.

Miller suffered a broken jaw after being hit in the head by Coyotes defenseman Klas Dahlbeck. Miller will be out until mid-January which means he will likely go on IR and the Red Wings should recall a forward. Joakim Andersson is expected to draw into the lineup for Miller on Saturday.

Miller is day-to-day after having his face cut by a skate on Tuesday.

Miller was injured after a faceoff, when Mark Stone fell forward and his right leg swung up just as Miller stepped forward. Miller was cut on his right cheek by the skate blade, immediately signaling to his bench that he needed to come off. Miller suffered two lacerations around his right eye, but the team announced there was no damage to the eye itself. He is questionable for Thursday’s game.

Drew Miller will replace Cory Emmerton at center. He will be flanked by Patrick Eaves and Tomas Holmstrom.

Eaves and Holmstrom are the only members of this four-five man fourth line with any fantasy hockey significance. Without consistent playing time, none of them should be added in standard mixed leagues.
