The Devils have recalled Scott Clemmensen from Albany (AHL).

Clemmensen has been recalled to serve as Cory Schneider’s backup tonight vs. Arizona. Keith Kinkaid is sidelined with a lower-body injury, which triggered the call-up. Clemmensen has gone 5-8-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .900 SV% in Albany.

Cory Schneider’s consecutive games started streak will stop at 20 as Clemmensen will get his first start of the season tonight in Calgary. Clemmensen was 1-2-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .920 SV% in his time with Albany. In two relief appearances with the Devils he has allowed four goals on 17 shots (.765 SV%) so it will be hard to trust the 37-year-old.

Scott Clemmensen has cleared waivers and officially been assigned to Albany (AHL).

Clemmensen did not even get a chance to start for the Devils this season, but did make two relief appearances. He allowed four goals on 17 shots (.765 SV%) in those two outings, so that probably played a huge part in the decision to send the 37-year-old down.

Clemmensen is expected to make his first start of the season tonight in Ottawa. He stopped six of seven shots in a relief appearance on October 16, but that is the only action he has seen this year. The 37-year-old was 6-7-1 with a 3.08 GAA and .896 SV% with the Panthers last season.

The Panthers have sent Scott Clemmensen to the AHL.

Clemmensen allowed four goals on 40 shots in his only start during his recall. He was sent back after Roberto Luongo returned to the crease on Friday. Tuesday's start was likely his last as a Florida Panther.

Clemmensen has not started an NHL game since March 1. He is 6-6-1 with a 3.02 GAA and .896 SV% so far this season. He draws a solid matchup against an Islanders team who is missing key players, but with a career 2.76 GAA and .906 SV%, he is not an ideal playoff spot-start.

Despite Tim Thomas being 2-0-0 vs. the Red Wings this season, the Panthers will go with Clemmensen. In his last start he allowed six goals on 36 shots in a 6-1 loss to the Lightning on Monday. Clemmensen is 4-3-1 with a 3.00 GAA and .892 SV% and will take on a Red Wings who are slowly starting to get healthy.

Clemmensen has won three straight starts while posting a 1.37 GAA and .944 SV%. He will look to make it four in a row tonight vs. the Senators. Despite his recent success it remains hard to trust the lifetime backup and his career 2.74 GAA and .906 SV%.

Clemmensen allowed one goal on 18 shots in a defeat of the Canadiens on Sunday. He has filled in well for Tim Thomas, going 2-0-0 with a 1.44 GAA and .930 SV%. He gets the call tonight with a decently tough matchup against a solid Maple Leafs squad.
