Michael Cammalleri News

The Oilers have acquired Michael Cammalleri from the Kings for Jussi Jokinen.

Cammalleri has registered three goals and four assists (seven points) in 15 games with the Kings this season. Jokinen never seemed to be a fit in Edmonton, so they get another veteran forward with offensive instincts. Cammalleri has put up solid numbers, even late in his career, but injuries have been an issue for him. The move should help both the Oilers scoring issues a little bit and gives Cammalleri a small fantasy boost.

The Kings have signed Mike Cammalleri to a one-year deal worth $1.0M.

The Kings have thinned out on the wing over the years and Cammalleri helps add some much needed scoring to their top-6. Even at 35-years-old, Cammalleri has posted consistent offensive numbers, but staying healthy has been a bugaboo for the veteran winger. During his three years in New Jersey, Cammalleri missed 75 games—or 30.5% of the games.

The Devils placed Michael Cammalleri on waivers for the purpose of a buyout.

Cammalleri had two years left on a five-year contract with an annual cap-hit of $5.0M. His buyout will save the Devils $3.33M against the cap in 2017-18. Cammalleri is a great point producer, even at the age of 35, but has had a very difficult time staying healthy, missing a combined 75 games over his three seasons in New Jersey.

Cammalleri will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Cammalleri has not registered a point in the last three games and played just 13:20 TOI on Thursday and tonight he'll come out of the lineup completely. Joseph Blandisi will replace him and Beau Bennett is expected to take his spot on the second line.

Cammalleri (personal) will return to the Devils' lineup on Wednesday.

Cammalleri missed the last six games because he was with his daughter at the hospital as she dealt with a pneumonia. Cammalleri, who has six points (3G / 3A) in 12 games this season will play a key role in the Devils’ offence with Taylor Hall sidelined for a few more weeks.

Cammalleri (personal) will not travel with the team to start their four-game road trip.

Cammalleri has missed the last two games due to a personal matter and will not head out on the start of the Devils’ upcoming road-trip. He could join the team on the trip, but there’s no word when he is expected to play next.

Cammalleri (hand) will miss the rest of the regular season.

Cammalleri has been sidelined by a hand injury since January 26th and will miss the rest of the season. The Devils said that Cammalleri doesn’t need surgery, he just needs time. Cammalleri finishes the season with 46 points (17G / 29A) in 51 games.

Cammalleri (upper-body) will not play on Monday.

Cammalleri will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury. Cammalleri skated on his own on Sunday, but is still not well enough to play vs. the Red Wings this evening. Consider him day-to-day and his injury means that Tyler Kennedy will continue to skate in the top-6.
