The NHL’s all-time winningest goalie made the decision after taking a break from the NHL team to ponder his future. Two sources confirmed that Brodeur took the Blues up on the offer of an executive role. Brodeur, 42, joined St. Louis following an injury to Brian Elliott in late November and went 3-3-0 in the only NHL games he ever played outside of the New Jersey Devils organization. He became the odd-man out when Elliott returned earlier this month to reform a tandem with Jake Allen.

The Blues have extended Brodeur’s leave of absence past the one-week that he was originally granted. With Brodeur being the third goalie on the Blues roster, there is likely little playing time available for him, so he is at home weighing his options.

The Blues have been rolling with three goalies since Brian Elliott returned from IR and Broduer has been on the sidelines from the last five contests. His leave of absence is presumably to return home and debate his future.

Brodeur stopped all 16 shots that he fced in the Blues 3-0 shutout win over the Avalanche on Monday. He has stopped the last 26 shots that he has faced dating back to December 23rd when he came in in relief of Jake Allen. He is 3-2-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .904 entering play vs. a strong Ducks team.

Brodeur stopped all 10 shots that he faced after replacing jake Allen last Tuesday vs. the Avs. Tonight, he will start vs. Colorado in what could be his final NHL game, unless the Blues elect to keep him and send Jake Allen back to the AHL. Brodeur is 2-2-0 with a 3.29 GAA and .892 SV% since signing with St. Louis.

Brodeur allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Blues 4-2 win over the Panthers last Wednesday. He has played well in his three appearances with St. Louis—he is 2-1-0 with a 2.64 GAA and .904 SV%. He takes on a Kings team who have surprisingly dropped five of their last six while averaging just 2.17 goals per game.

Brodeur stopped 14 of 15 shots in relief in the Blues come from behind win over the Islanders on Saturday. It was his first career win with St. Louis and tonight he makes his first home start as he gets set to take on the Panthers. Brodeur has looked strong in two appearances, making him a reasonably safe start tonight.

St. Louis must have liked what they saw from Brodeur in practice because they will give him the start just two days after signing him to a one-year deal. The 42-year-old net minder was 19-14-6 with a 2.51 GAA and .901 SV% with the Devils last season, but just take a peek at his career line—688-394-49 / 2.51 GAA / 912 SV% / 124 SO.

Brodeur started practicing with the Blues last Friday and has obviously impressed enough to earn a one-year deal. Brodeur could get a start on the Blues current road-trip. The 42-year-old goaltender is one of the greatest in NHL history but it will be weird to see him in anything other than Red and Black. He went 19-14-6 with a 2.51 GAA, .901 SV% with three shutouts with the Devils last season. His contract is believed to have performance bonuses.

Brodeur, 42, will be on the ice with the club on Friday. They lost Brian Elliott to a sprained knee, so there is no saying how long he will be out, so they are turning to the future hall of famer to see if he can come in an help the team win some games. He will likely practice with the Blues a few times before they decide whether or not to sign the free agent net minder.

Brodeur stopped 28 of 30 shits in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders on Friday. The solid showing has earned him the start in the season finale this afternoon. Today, will very likely mark his last start with the Devils--it will be his 1,244th start in the red and black. He is 18-14-6 with a 2.52 GAA and .901 SV% this season.

Brodeur stopped allowed three goals on nine shots before being pulled on March 31st. He was awarded the win (just his 18th of the season) but it was a gross outing. With tonight possibly being the final memory Devils fans will have of the living legend, he will look to bring his A-game. He draws a strong matchup against a patchwork Islanders team, who he is 1-0-1 with a 1.92 GAA and .911 SV% against this season.

Brodeur allowed three goals on 32 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Lightning on Saturday. Despite the loss, it was another strong outing for Brodeur, who has stopped 126 of 138 shots (.913 SV%) while going 4-1-0 in his last five starts. He will be in tough tonight with the Bruins in town.

Brodeur stopped 30 of 31 shots in a 2-1 win over the Flyers on Tuesday. Brodeur has won four straight starts while posting a 2.25 GAA and .915 SV%. He will face the Lightning tonight, a team he was 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA and .980 SV% against this season, one of those wins were when they were without Steven Stamkos.

Brodeur surrendered four goals on 33 shots in a win over the Hurricanes on Saturday. He has now won three straight starts while posting a 2.67 GAA and .893 SV%. While those numbers might not be pretty, Brodeur is doing what Brodeur does, which is win games. Brodeur is 1-1-1 with a 1.33 GAA and .944 SV% against the Flyers this season.

Brodeur allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 4-3 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. He took a seat on Friday where he watched Cory Schneider surrender seven tallies. Tonight he will take on the Hurricanes having won each of his last two starts while posting a 2.00 GAA and .905 SV%.
