Ness will make his Coyotes debut on Monday.

Ness has appeared in 47 career NHL games (with the Islanders and Capitals) and has just one goal and five assists. The 29-year-old has one assist in four AHL games this season and is expected to replace Kyle Capobianco in the lineup on Monday.

The Capitals reassigned Aaron Ness to Hershey (AHL).

Ness was called-up to serve as an extra defenseman while Brooks Orpik was sidelined with a lower-body injury. With Orpik presumably returning to the lineup on Monday, Ness returns to the AHL. The 28-year-old blueliner has four assists in 12 games with the Hershey Bears.

Ness has been recalled because Taylor Chorney is questionable for Thursday’s game. Ness has two assists in eight games with the Capitals this season and 15 points (2G / 13A) in 32 games with Hershey (AHL).
