Cam Schilling News

The Capitals have signed Cameron Schilling to a one-year, two-way contract ($700K/$365K).

Following four years at Miami (Ohio) University, Schilling turned pro with the Capitals organization in 2012. He spent the last three years with the Jets, playing in just four NHL games. The 32-year-old has just 10 career NHL games to-date, so expect him to be a fixture with Hershey (AHL) in 2021.

Schilling had one assist in four games with Winnipeg but was a healthy on Friday because Dustin Byfuglien and Dmitry Kulikov returned to the lineup. Schilling returns to the AHL where he has six assists in 15 games this season.

The Capitals have recalled Cam Schilling from Hershey (AHL).

Brooks Orpik is questionable for tonight’s game, so the Capitals have recalled Schilling. The 26-year-old has appeared in three NHL games with the Capitals this season. Schilling recorded 13 points (2G / 11A) and 44 penalty minutes in 48 games with Hershey this season.

Schilling played on Friday vs. the Ducks, recording one shot and a plus-1 rating in 13:42. He was a healthy scratch last night with Mike Green returning to the lineup, so Schilling heads back to Hershey before the Capitals leave for their California road-trip.

Schilling, 26, has appeared in two NHL games with the Capitals. He made his NHL debut on March 12, 2013, against Carolina and skated in one game with Washington last season. Schilling recorded 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and 33 penalty minutes in 40 games with Hershey (AHL) this season.
