The Flyers have sent Mike McKenna to Lehigh Valley (AHL) on a conditioning stint.

With Carter Hart and Anthony Stolarz having strong showings out of the All-Star break, McKenna will spend some time in the AHL while they decide what to do with him. McKenna allowed four goals on 24 shots in a loss in his only game with the Flyers.

McKenna has gone 1-4-1 with a 3.96 GAA and .897 SV% in six starts and four relief appearances with the Senators so far this season. McKenna spent a few days with the Canucks before being claimed by the Flyers and will make his debut with his seventh NHL team tonight. He has a 3.58 GAA and .892 SV% in 34 career NHL appearances.

The Flyers have claimed Mike McKenna off of waivers from the Canucks.

McKenna was acquired from the Senators earlier this week before being placed on waivers in order to send him to Utica (AHL). However, the Flyers goaltending situation has been a disaster this season so McKenna could allow them to return Carter Hart to Lehigh Valley (AHL) to get some playing time. The 35-year-old veteran has a 3.58 GAA and .892 SV% in 34 career NHL games.

The Canucks have acquired Mike McKenna, Tom Pyatt and a 2019 sixth-round pick from the Senators for Anders Nilsson and Darren Archibald.

McKenna was set to serve as the Senators backup vs. Vancouver tonight but now he switches locker rooms and will be Jacob Markstrom’s backup vs. the Senators. McKenna has gone 1-4-1 with a 3.96 GAA and .897 SV% in 10 games with Ottawa this season.

McKenna stopped all seven shots that he faced after replacing Craig Anderson in last night’s loss in New Jersey. With Anderson out on Saturday, McKenna will start for the first time since last Saturday. The 35-year-old has gone 1-2-1 with a 3.75 GAA and .905 SV% so far this season.

McKenna was impressive, stopping 42 of 44 shots in the Senators loss to the Bruins last Sunday. McKenna struggled mightily when he was first called-up but has stopped 76 of the last 81 shots (.938 SV%) in his last two outings. Tonight he takes on a Canadiens squad that has won five of their last seven while scoring 3.71 goals for per game.

McKenna allowed one goal on 10 shots after replacing Craig Anderson in the Senators loss to the Panthers on November 19th. Since coming up from the AHL, McKenna has allowed 12 goals on 87 shots (.862 SV%). McKenna has struggled at the NHL level throughout his career, so make sure he stays on the waiver wire and not on your roster.

The Senators have recalled Mike McKenna from Belleville (AHL).

McKenna becomes the Senators primary backup after being called up to replace Mike Condon, who was placed on waivers on Wednesday. McKenna has gone 3-3-0 with a 2.72 GAA and .914 SV% in six games with Belleville this season. During stops with the Lightning, Devils, Blue Jackets, Coyotes and Stars, McKenna has amassed a 6-12-2 record with a 3.44 GAA and .889 SV% in 24 career NHL games.

Ben Bishop suffered another lower-body injury on Sunday and he will miss at least the next two weeks, so McKenna returns as Lehtonen's backup. The Stars are fighting for their playoff lives, so McKenna likely won’t see any action. He is 15-9-1 with a 2.69 GAA and .907 SV% in 30 games with Texas this season.
