Cehlarik was recalled from Providence (AHL) and will make his season debut on Wednesday.

Cehlarik was called up because Jake DeBrusk was dealing with a lower-body injury but DeBrusk will play. So Cehlarik will replace David Backes, who comes out as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old winger has four points (1G / 3A) in 17 career NHL games and 29 points (10G / 19A) in 37 games with Providence this season.

The Bruins have recalled Peter Cehlarik from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

The Bruins lost both David Backes and Anders Bjork in Tuesday’s game vs. the Ducks, so Cehlarik comes up to fill their void at forward. It sounds like Bjork will be out longer than Backes so look for Cehlarik, who has 13 points (6G / 7A) in 17 games with Providence, to replace him on Thursday.

Cehlarik is not expected to play Sunday because of a knee injury.

Cehlarik’s knee got banged up in Friday’s game vs. the Penguins, so Jordan Szwarz was called up on Saturday and is expected to take Cehlarik’s spot against the Oilers. Consider Cehlarik as day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Lightning.
