The Edmonton Oilers have placed Ty Rattie (mid-body) on injured reserve.

Rattie is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks with a muscles issue in his “mid-body” so the Oilers have placed him on IR to open up a roster spot to call up Cooper Marody.

Rattie (undisclosed) is questionable to play on Saturday.

Rattie was forced to leave Thursday’s game vs. the Bruins after playing just 7:14 TOI. With Rattie potentially out, Kailer Yamamoto could skate on the Oilers top line with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Rattie will be a game-time decision on Sunday.

Rattie was recalled prior to Saturday’s game in Los Angeles but didn’t play—he could draw in tonight in Anaheim. It would be Rattie’s Oilers debut after he picked up 20 goals and 19 assists (39 points) in 49 games with Bakersfield (AHL) before his call-up.

The Oilers have signed Ty Rattie to a one-year deal worth $700K.

Rattie, 24, averaged 23 goals and 22 assists (45 points) in his first three AHL seasons, but had just five points (2G / 3A) in 22 games with Chicago (AHL) last year. The former No.32 overall pick has registered 10 points (4G / 6A) in 35 career NHL games, but posted elite numbers in junior and will be given a shot to make the Oilers out of training camp.

The Hurricanes have claimed Ty Rattie off of waivers from St. Louis.

Rattie has only appeared in four games with the Blues this season, failing to record a point while averaging just 7:20 TOI. The Blues were obviously hoping he’d fall to the AHL to get some playing time, but the Hurricanes had other ideas. Rattie was the No.32 pick in 2011, but has only managed to put up eight points (4G / 4A) in 30 career NHL games despite putting up excellent numbers in the WHL and the AHL after being drafted.

The Blues signed Ty Rattie to a one-year deal worth $650K on July 13th.

Rattie, 23, was the 32nd overall pick in 2011 and has posted great numbers in three seasons with Chicago (AHL), but has yet to have a big impact at the NHL level. He hasn’t been given a great chance yet, but should finally get that opportunity in 2016-17. Rattie has eight points (4G / 4A) in 26 career NHL games.

The Blues have loaned Ty Rattie to Chicago (AHL).

The Blues are done until after the All-Star break so they’ve sent Rattie down to play with Chicago. Rattie had three goals in his last six games, but Jaden Schwartz will likely be back after the break, so Rattie will probably stick in the minors.
