Bobrovsky will start Game 3 on Thursday vs. Tampa Bay. The Panthers are up 2-0 in their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning and will look to take a stranglehold with a victory in game three. Bobrovsky has been terrific thus far, allowing two goals in each contest, including a save-of-the-year candidate in their 3-2 game-two overtime victory when he saved 21 of 23 shots (.913 SV%). Andersen will start Game 3 on Thursday vs. New York. Andersen only had to stop nine shots (.750) as Carolina took a 2-0 series lead with a 4-3 victory over New York in Raleigh last time out. The 34-year-old will make his third consecutive start after rotating nearly every game he was healthy for this season and has a 2-0-0 record, 2.01 GAA, and .913 SV% in the playoffs. Sorokin will start Game 3 on Thursday vs. Carolina. After riding Semyon Varlamov in their first two games, the Islanders are in a 0-2 series deficit and will turn to Sorokin between the pipes in game three. Varlamov stole starts from Sorokin down the stretch, eventually stealing the starting goalie position for the beginning of the playoffs. Sorokin, the 2022-23 Vezina runner-up, was solid towards the end of the season, posting a .932 SV% in his final four outings (3-0-1).
