Ersson will start Tuesday vs. the Capitals.

The Flyers will turn to Ersson between the pipes in their final game of the season. Ersson has played superbly in his last two games, allowing only one total goal and recording a 20-save shutout in his last outing, a 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils. The Flyers need to win against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday and need help around the league to make the playoffs, but they enter action as -143 home favourites.

Staal will be a healthy scratch on Thursday vs. New York.

Staal somehow managed an even plus/minus in Philadelphia's 9-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday but will be the odd man out of the lineup on Thursday as Egor Zamula returns. The 37-year-old veteran defenseman has had a season to forget in his first year in Philadelphia, with a goal and five points, 14 PIMs, 20 SOG and a +2 plus/minus in 35 games played.

Ersson will start on Thursday in New York.

The Flyers are amid a disastrous eight-game losing skid and will turn to Ersson in the crease for a third-straight game. The Flyers are desperate for points but enter action on Thursday as +180 road underdogs against the New York Rangers.

Staal will draw back into Philadelphia's lineup on Tuesday vs. Montreal.

Staal has only appeared in one game since March 16th but will make another appearance on Tuesday as he replaced Ronnie Attard vs. Montreal. The 37-year-old may finally be showing signs of aging as he has his lowest point output since 2011-12 with his one goal and five points in 34 games played this season.
