DraftKings Fantasy Hockey Cheat Sheet: April 6th

DraftKings Fantasy Hockey Cheat Sheet: April 6th
cheat-sheet

There are only three games tonight and all three of them have the look of high-scoring affairs. Two of the games are completely meaningless, pitting two non-playoff teams against each other, while the other is a massive meeting between the Red Wings and Flyers, both of which need a victory.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight

Centres

Connor McDavid – vs. VAN – $7,300

McDavid has an an absolute dominant rookie season, but has been held off of the scoresheet in the last two games. Tonight’s meeting with the Canucks will be the final game at Rexall Place, so McDavid will be trying to put on a show for all of the former Oilers greats. He has 10 points (1G / 9A) and 3.7 DraftKings points per game (FPPG) in his last nine games. He has two assists and 2.8 FPPG in two games vs. the Canucks this season.

Claude Giroux – @ DET – $7,200

Giroux has heated up down the stretch, picking up four goals, three assists and 4.3 FPPG in his last eight games. Over that span he is averaging a strong 3.7 shots per game, providing him with a stable floor in Detroit. The Red Wings defence has been suspect this season and this game could get high scoring. Giroux has one goal, one assist and 5.4 FPPG in two games vs. Detroit.

Pavel Datsyuk  – vs. PHI – $6,300

Tonight is a must-win for the Red Wings so Datsyuk will need to show up in a big way. It hasn’t been a great statistical season for Datsyuk, who could be playing his final game at Joe Louis Arena tonight. He has eight points (2G / 6A) and 3.4 FPPG in his last eight games and has one goal, two assists and 5.9 FPPG in two games vs. Philadelphia.

Value Options:

Bo Horvat – @ EDM – $3,600

Hornet has 37 points (14G / 23A) in 79 games this season and comes into tonight on a three-games point streak, picking up two goals, two assists and 5.0 FPPG. He has been heating up and is playing top-6 minutes—with a matchup in Edmonton, Horvat makes a decent punt-play at $3,600.

Riley Sheahan – vs. PHI – $3,100

Sheahan’s season has been mostly disappointing, but he has collected four goals, two assists and 3.7 FPPG in his last six games. He is the net front presence on a power-play that has players like Datsyuk and Mike Green, making him a great value option.

Wingers

Wayne Simmonds – @ DET – $6,700

Simmonds enters Wednesday on a four-game point streak, having registered four goals, two assists and 6.0 FPPG. The big winger is one goal away from a 30-goal season and it could come against a Red Wings team that he has averaged 6.3 FPPG against this year. In those two games, he is averaging an absurd six shots per game.

Jordan Eberle – vs. VAN – $5,900

Eberle’s game has taken a turn for the better since being put on a line with McDavid. He has recorded 25 goals on the season and three of them have come in his last five games. Over that stretch he has averaged 3.8 shots and 4.0 DraftKings points per game. He hasn’t scored in three games vs. the Canucks, but they present a quality option in the Rexall finale.

Boone Jenner – @ TOR – $5,500

Jenner has enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2015-16, registering 30 goals in 79 games after scoring just 25 goals in his first 103 NHL games. He grew up near the Toronto area and has had success against the lowly Maple Leafs this season, scoring two goals, one assist and 5.3 FPPG. Over his last nine contests the Blue Jackets winger has six goals, two assists and 4.6 FPPG—his three shots per game offer a stable floor as well.

Value Options:

Patrick Maroon – vs. VAN – $3,800

Maroon is the other winger on the McDavid-Eberle line and despite being held off of the score sheet in his last two games, Maroon is averaging 5.3 FPPG and 3.2 shots per game in his last four. At $3,800, playing with McDavid and Eberle makes Maroon a great value option.

Brad Richards – vs. PHI – $3,500

Richards had one goal and one assist in the Red Wings’ last game and is currently playing on a line with Datsyuk as well as the point on the power-play. He shoots a fair bit to have a decent floor and has proven to be clutch this season and in years previous. In a must-win for the Red Wings, they’ll be hoping for Richards to show up.

Defensemen

Shayne Gostisbehere – @ DET – $6,400

Gostisbehere has not scored in his last 10 games, but has four assists and 3.3 FPPG in his last six games. He has averaged 4.5 FPPG in two games against the Red Wings—those two games included one goal and 11 shots on goal. He is a tremendous offensive-defenseman with a strong matchup.

Mike Green – vs. PHI – $5,300

In Green’s last eight games, he has turned into something closer to his old-self. He has collected seven points (3G  /4A) and 3.0 FPPG. He doesn’t shoot as much as he used to with the Capitals, but he is the Red Wings best blueline option.

David Savard – @ TOR – $4,400

Savard is one of my favourite DraftKings options because he can produce offensively, shoots a fair bit and blocks a tonne of shots. He has four assists, six shots and there blocks (4.2 FPPG) in his last three games and the matchup vs. Toronto is a great one.

Goalies

All three of tonight’s game have the potential to be high-scoring, so picking the right goalie could be tough.

Cam Talbot – vs. VAN – $7,300

Talbot has lost three of his last four starts while averaging at least three goals in three of four of those games. He has averaged just 2.7 FPPG over that span. He is .500 over his last 10 and is averaging 7.7 FP in two starts against Vancouver—going 1-0-1 with a  0.97 GAA and .969 SV%.

Sergei Bobrovsky – @ TOR – $6,800

Bobrovsky has lost three straight while posting a 3.40 GAA and .889 SV%, but has a solid matchup against a Maple Leafs team that has lost three in a row and five of their last six. They were playing well for a while, but not anymore, plus they’ll be without Nazem Kadri.
