Alex Burrows Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows underwent back surgery on today, reports claim the operation was a success.  His injury came during the second round of the playoffs, where the Canucks eventually lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games.

You may remember Burrows as the wing who flanked the Sedin twins with great success.  The agitator also found chemistry alongside budding superstar Ryan Kesler.

This injury may scare other owners off but Burrows cannot be underestimated.  He ranked 23rd overall in standard rotisserie leagues and 45th overall to those in head-to-head format.  Lets hope for a speedy recovery and another year where he ticks off both players and refs.

UPDATE:  Seems like a not-so-speedy recovery is in store for Burrows.  The Vancouver Sun claims the Canucks may need to start the season without him.
