Congratulations to team “HighStakes” the new Dailyfaceoff Fantasy Champion!
The Fantasy GM of HighStakes was able to hold off the competition on the last night of
play to capture 1st place and secure the $2000 Visa Gift Card grand prize. Even though 2nd place “Al Trautwig’s Teeth” scored more points than our winner last night, it wasn’t enough to claim the crown. No doubt, HighStakes is thanking Roman Josi, Shea Weber and Johnny Gaudreau for all showing up on the scoresheet in such a low scoring Calgary vs Nashville game on Wednesday.
This season started out as a head-scratcher with so many superstars underperforming. Perennial fantasy darlings like Sidney Crosby, Corey Perry, John Tavares, Phil Kessel, and more, all seemed to stumble out of the gate. We’ve got a few more things to say about that in our new Mid-Season Fantasy Kit but suffice to say that the beginning of this season has been surprising.
In addition to HighStakes, two more teams managed to wade through the tricky fantasy start to make their way into the Top 3. Congratulations to the aforementioned Al Trautwig’s Teeth who captured 2nd place and a $500 Visa Gift Card and Pardy Like A Rockstar who scored a signed Taylor Hall Jersey with their 3rd place finish. I took a hit with guys like Crosby and limped to a 23rd placed finish.
