Comrie sticking on left side of Malkin

Comrie sticking on left side of Malkin

The Pittsburgh Penguins should open the season with Mike Comrie flanking elite center Evgeni Malkin.  Just a few weeks back we expected Jordan Staal to play wing to the young Russian but he could miss almost half the season with a foot infection, letting Comrie make the most of his opportunity.

Last season, Comrie led the NHL in pre-season scoring and continues tearing apart goaltenders when games don’t matter with four goals and nine points in only five games.    Coming into the season, the recently married forward could get off to a good start with a system he feels more comfortable in.  Comrie missed most of last season with mononucleosis but so far has shown no signs of weakness or failure to recover.

In deep leagues, a player like this should be a decent option should he stick with the talented Malkin.  His League minimum salary should also help pools which count salary.
