The San Jose Sharks announced this morning that Logan Couture is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a broken right fibula (at the ankle) in Thursday’s practice session. Couture will return to San Jose where he will undergo surgery and is expected to be out until mid-to-late November.

San Jose Sharks’ forward Logan Couture had to be helped off of the ice after suffering an apparent leg injury in practice on Thursday.

Couture, who has one assist and seven shots on goal during the Sharks’ 3-0 start, appeared to be in serious pain and needed assistance to get off of the ice surface.

The 26-year-old did not miss a game last season, but it looks as if he could miss a significant amount of time after he was reportedly seen leaving the practice facility on crutches with his foot in a boot. The Sharks will evaluate Couture and are expected to release an injury update on Friday.

The video below shows Couture down on the ice and being helped off in a tonne of pain.
