D’Agostini Soon to be Singing the Blues

D’Agostini Soon to be Singing the Blues

The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Matt D’Agostini to the St. Louis Blues for AHL prospect Aaron Palushaj.  D’Agostini fell out of favor with coach Jacques Martin over the past few months, relegating him to fourth line duties despite a plethora of injuries.  His move off the fourth line opens up a full time spot for Tom Pyatt, who will likely flank Glen Metropolit during the stretch drive.

In Palushaj the Canadiens acquire a former teammate of Max Pacioretty.  Since turning pro the Canadiens first pick in 2007 shows glimpses of success with the Hamilton Bulldogs but failed to show that same production with the big club.  If given a chance Palushaj may rejuvenate his former teammate giving the Canadiens some added offensive punch but do not expect much this season as the depth chart appears pretty full.
