Yaremchuk: “It was American Thanksgiving yesterday, the 25 percent mark of the NHL season, and we’re starting to learn what we have from many teams around the league. We’re also beginning to see what a lot of teams don’t have, which is the spark for this segment in the show.

It’s Black Friday shopping and we’re going to start with the Eastern Conference. If you could make a Black Friday purchase for any team in the east, what would it be?”

Larkin: “I’m purchasing many sets of earplugs for the Philadelphia Flyers players because they are surely hearing it from John Tortorella right now. They’ve lost eight games in a row.

We know how it works with Tortorella. When his teams are performing well, he’s a motivator, he’s the taskmaster who can get the most out of his players, but when things go south and you have Tortorella in that dressing room, you’re trying to hide under a garbage can because his wrath is powerful.

I remember talking to Cam Atkinson before the season and he said ‘John Tortorella is a pretty hardcore guy, he writes each player a letter with all of this motivational talk, he’s an intense dude.’

I wouldn’t want to be a Flyers player right now. I’d be a little afraid.”

Yaremchuk: “I’d like to purchase a time machine for the New Jersey Devils. I would imagine this Devils team would like to fast-forward right to the playoffs with the way they’re playing right now.

We talk so much leading into the playoffs about how you want to be playing your best hockey right at the end of the year. My concern would be, if I’m on the Devils or I’m a fan, we might be playing our best hockey right now, and I wouldn’t want to risk anything going on over the final 60-something games of the regular season.”
