Studs

Nathan MacKinnon

Since the Matt Duchene trade there is no doubt who the clear cut number one center is for the Avalanche, and its MacKinnon. The Avalanche get a matchup with the New Jersey Devils who just acquired Sami Vatenen in a trade to revamp their blue line, however MacKinnon is an elite talent looking to become one of the elite centers in the NHL. In his last five games, MacKinnon has had two goals, six assists, and 15 shots on goal, and while he is getting a tad pricey there are a lot of top end centers tonight so he may go a tad overlooked.

Joe Pavelksi

Whatever has been ailing Pavelksi seems to be fading away as he has four assists in his last four games and he also had a goal called back after review. The Sharks get a matchup with the Florida Panthers who are without top line winger Evgenii Dadonov and have been pretty rough defensively recently. I would imagine most people who use Sharks tonight will go back to the second line but I really like a power play mini of Pavelksi – Couture – Burns

Brent Burns

Burns has been doing everything he had last year except get on the scoresheet, which has been very unlucky. That lucky seems to be starting to positively regress to the mean. He is due for a monster Brent Burns game and while he’s still under $7000 on DraftKings now is the time to pounce.

Value

Mathew Barzal

I’m not really sure that Barzal really falls into the value category but he is moderately priced tonight but will be popular because of that. Barzal’s speed and talent is undeniable and his lines 5v5 numbers against almost anyone they face will favor the Isles. Barzal has registered a point in seven straight games with three goals and seven assists, and gets a good matchup against a struggling Senator team. Despite ownership being moderately high I still think you can use Barzal in GPPs.

Josh Anderson

On a line with Artemi Panarin, Anderson has been producing at a solid rate recently. He had two goals, two assists and a massive 17 shots on goal in his last four games. The Blue Jackets get a matchup with the Ducks who bolstered their center depth by getting Adam Henrique, however they are still really banged up and at Anderson’s price he is a good value in GPPs.

Josh Morrissey – For whatever reason Morrissey’s price never seems to budge from low to mid $3000s on DraftKings. He is on the top pair with Trouba for Winnipeg and gets a great matchup against the Golden Knights on a back to back. He’s been seeing about 19 minutes on the ice per game and while he does hit the score sheet with great regularity he has very good peripheral stats which averages him 2.4 DK points per game.
