It’s a tight day in the NHL, with the Canucks being the biggest underdogs at +129. The Capitals are even-money in New Jersey, facing a Devils team that has had a great start to the season. The Devils lead the NHL in 5v5 xGF% (70.11) but it’s worth pointing out that they’ve faced the Flyers, Red Wings, Ducks, Islanders, and Sharks. They haven’t exactly run a gauntlet so far and Washington will be their toughest challenge to-date. The Capitals haven’t had the most impressive start, but they’ve won three of their last four. The model must not be overly impressed with the Devils start, still seeing the Capitals as -140 favourites.
