Blackhawks vs Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -156 Favorites

Chicago is still looking for its first victory of the season in the second game of a two-game set at Florida. On Sunday, the Blackhawks surrendered five goals for the third consecutive time in a 5-2 loss to the Panthers, who were playing for the first time this year and cashed as -150 home favorites. Florida got a solid performance from 26-year-old goaltender Chris Driedger (25 saves) while Chicago’s Collin Delia gave up all five goals for the second straight game. The Panthers have won three of the past four meetings, with the OVER on a 4-1 run in the last five.

Sabres vs Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -156 Odds

Buffalo put an end to Philadelphia’s unbeaten start on Monday with a 6-1 rout as a +130 road underdog and got its first win in the process as well. The Sabres jumped out to a 5-0 lead and were never challenged, led by two goals apiece from Curtis Lazar and Sam Reinhart. They meet the Flyers again in a back-to-back situation and have won three of four under that scenario. Philadelphia has lost three of four in this situation and played both Carter Hart and Brian Elliott in net the last game, as the duo split time on ice almost equally in the defeat.

Capitals vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -122 Odds

Pittsburgh is coming off a much-needed win and will try to make it two in a row with a sweep of Washington here. The Penguins edged the Capitals 4-3 in a shootout Sunday on a goal by Jake Guentzel, cashing as -125 home favorites, with the OVER improving to 3-0 in their first three games. The OVER is also 2-1 for Washington, which had won the previous two meetings. The OVER is on a 5-0 run in the past five meetings too despite the total closing at 6.5 each time.

Jets vs Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Jets -120 Favorites

Winnipeg also will be playing back-to-back nights at Ottawa after falling 3-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs as a +150 road underdog on Monday. The Jets have lost five consecutive times when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation. However, the Senators have dropped six of the past eight meetings in this series, including the last two by a combined score of 10-3.

Blue Jackets vs Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -167 Favorites

Columbus will be going for a two-game sweep of Detroit following a 3-2 victory as a -180 road favorite on Monday. The Blue Jackets had lost their first two games but scored three consecutive goals after Bobby Ryan gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period. Ryan scored his second with less than a minute remaining, although it was too late as a Pierre-Luc Dubois goal at the 6:26 mark of the third proved to be the game-winner. Columbus has lost three of four in the second game of a back-to-back situation while Detroit has won two of three.

Hurricanes vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -116 Favorites

Carolina will look to beat Nashville for the ninth time in 10 games when they face off on back-to-back nights. The Hurricanes doubled up the Predators 4-2 on Monday after closing as small -125 road favorites. All six combined games the teams have played this year have been decided by two goals or more. Carolina has won three in a row and six of seven when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation while Nashville has lost three straight and five of six.

Avalanche vs Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -182 Favorites

Los Angeles will attempt to earn its first victory versus Colorado after blowing two-goal leads in losing in its first two games. The Kings were up 3-1 against the Minnesota Wild heading into the third period both times before losing each 4-3 in overtime. Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick took the two losses, stopping 63-of-71 shots overall.
