Chicago earned its first victory of the season on Friday after an 0-3-1 start, topping Detroit 4-1 as a -135 home favorite. The Blackhawks beat the Red Wings for the fifth time in six meetings and saw their OVER streak end at three games thanks to the goaltending of 25-year-old Kevin Lankinen (25 saves), who picked up his first NHL win. Detroit will try to rebound in this spot after winning two of its previous three games as an underdog, with the UNDER on a 3-0 run.

Maple Leafs vs Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -113 Favorites

Calgary will head back to the ice for the first time since Monday in the first of consecutive home games against Toronto. The Flames are coming off a two-game home sweep of the Vancouver Canucks, outscoring them by an 8-2 margin. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs hit the road for a four-game trip after winning two of three at home, with the UNDER on a 3-0-1 run in their last four overall. Toronto doubled up the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 as -145 home favorites on Friday, but they have lost three of the past four meetings here, with the UNDER on a 6-1-1 series run.

Golden Knights vs Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -160 Favorites

Arizona will attempt to make it two in a row versus Vegas and end up with a split of their four-game set. The home team has won each of the first three games of this series in 2021, with the Coyotes defeating the Golden Knights 5-2 as +150 underdogs on Friday. The OVER also improved to 5-0 for Arizona. Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to get the nod in net after posting a 2-0 mark and 1.51 goals-against average in his first two starts of the year.

Sabres vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sabres -138 Favorites

Short-handed Washington was able to overcome the loss of four of its top players in a 4-3 shootout win over Buffalo as a +100 home underdog on Friday and will go for a two-game sweep in this spot. Defenseman John Carlson scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for the Capitals, who added winger Tom Wilson (lower-body injury) to a list including captain Alex Ovechkin, center Evgeny Kuznetsov, defenseman Dmitry Orlov and goaltender Ilya Samsonov who are already out due to COVID-19 protocols. The Sabres have lost four of the past five meetings, eight of 10 and 15 of 19. The OVER is on a 4-1 run for Buffalo overall.

Rangers vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -140 Favorites

Pittsburgh will look to extend its winning streak to four games in the second of two against New York. The Penguins rallied back from a 3-1 deficit against the Rangers to win 4-3 in a shootout as -135 home favorites, with Kris Letang netting the game-winning goal. The OVER improved to 5-0 in Pittsburgh’s games, as goalie Tristan Jarry again struggled between the pipes but still got his first win of the season. The Penguins have needed extra time for all three of their wins.

Islanders vs Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -110 Odds

New Jersey will wrap up a three-game set against New York teams after splitting the first two. The Devils lost 4-1 to the Islanders as +155 home underdogs on Thursday but had won their previous two games as dogs against the Rangers (+130) on the road and Bruins (+165) at the Prudential Center. The UNDER is 3-1 in New Jersey’s first four games and a perfect 4-0 for New York, which has won six of the past seven meetings and three of its first four this year.

Avalanche vs Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -200 Favorites

Colorado hopes to return home with a winning record in the finale of a four-game road trip at Anaheim. The Avalanche have won two of their first three games on the road and three of four overall since falling 4-1 to the Blues at home. The Ducks lost 3-2 in overtime as a +160 home underdog on Friday, battling back from one-goal deficits twice to tie things up before the end of regulation. The UNDER is on a 4-0 run for Anaheim and has cashed in two of three for Colorado.

Predators vs Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -111 Favorites

Dallas is coming off a 7-0 rout of Nashville as a -115 home favorite in its season opener on Friday, showing no rust despite starting the season later than any team in the NHL due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Stars ended a two-game series skid with the Predators in an easy victory, although captain Jamie Benn suffered a leg injury and missed practice on Saturday. Nashville has now lost two straight since a 2-0 start, with the OVER going 2-0-1 in its last three.
